History :
Pal is a small village place in Raver Taluka of Jalgaon District. The majority of the population of this area consists of which is, however considered to be one of the progressive areas of Maharashtra, particularly in the field of agriculture and education. It was here that in accordance with the mandate of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian National Congress for the first time, held its Annual Session in rural areas, under the presidentship of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1936. At the call of Mahatma Gandhi, the middle class and the peasantry of this country plunged into the struggle for independence and completely altered its course. A large section of peasantry from this area followed the Mahatma in revolt against British rule and it was because of this large number of freedom fighters and constructive workers who actively participated in the struggle for independence, that on out of the way small place like Faizpur get the privilege of being the venue of the First Indian National Congress in rural areas.
Pal has thus a great importance and significance in the history of our freedom struggle. The memories of this historical event are a great source of inspiration to the people in their onward march. Many people, therefore entertained the idea of erecting a fitting memorial of this historical incident not merely of bricks or mortar in the form of Stambhas (statues) but in such a way that the latent but to him the patent content which Gandhiji had in mind in taking Congress to rural areas could be transformed into socio-economic and cultural life of the rural community. It was, therefore, thought that an educational institute which would serve as a radiating centre of ideas and thoughts that would contribute to the social, cultural and economic uplift of the rural community should be established. The Arts, Commerce and Science College, Pal was, therefore, formed in 1960 and under the auspices of this society; facilities for higher learning in Arts, Science and Commerce have been created by starting a College in 2012.
