Freedom Struggle & Inspiration

The Historic Faizpur Session
1936 Indian National Congress

Pal region holds an extraordinary place in India's independence movement. It was here, at the call of Mahatma Gandhi, that the Indian National Congress held its first rural session in Faizpur (1936) under the presidentship of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. This historic event transformed the freedom struggle, bringing peasants and rural communities into the mainstream.

Inspired by this legacy, visionaries resolved to erect a fitting memorial—not just bricks and mortar, but an educational institution that would radiate ideas of social and economic upliftment. The Arts, Commerce and Science College, Pal, was conceived as that living memorial, translating Gandhiji's vision into transformative education for rural and tribal youth.
